Learn to weave a scarf workshop
***this is a TWO day class****
In this workshop, you’ll learn how to warp the loom, weave on it, remove and finish your project. You should be able to complete a scarf by the second session.
Bring anything you have at home that you would like to incorporate into your scarf, sport to worsted weight yarn. If not I have plenty, but some students have colors and fibers they like.
I will provide small rigid heddle looms (Ashford Sampleit) that you may use during the workshop (you may take it home between sessions) that you will create your (approx. 7″ x 6′) scarf on.
Supplies also include 2 skeins of yarn. You can bring your own yarn but it needs to be strong enough to be put under tension while weaving and a medium weight, no lace, fingering or really thick art yarns.
Design your own electronic dice from conception to finish in this 5 hour workshop with Tony. You’ll learn how to design, prepare your materials, get your design from your notebook to laser-cutter ready, the circuitry involved, and the basics of getting the code transferred. You’ll be using acrylic or wood to build your dice, neopixels to light them, an attiny85 to control them, and the arduino IDE to program them.
Sewing! Knitting! Crocheting! Felting! Weaving! Embroidery! Whatever fiber art floats your boat. Come check out our space and bring a fiber-related project to work on. Meet other fiberholics. This is a social event, not a workshop or class. Feel free to bring a project to show off or a snack to share.
Free and open to the public. Donations welcome. We are an all-volunteer organization and depend on donations to keep our doors open.
